Ephraim Shepherd at Rest 5 " Fontanini

The Fontanini Nativity story of Ephraim: Ephraim was a 17 year old boy who loved the stars. He spent as much time as he could looking into the heavens, making up names for each different star and stories about them. His family thought him a dreamer, and asked little of him, save to tend the flock of sheep near their home. One evening Ephraim slipped out of the house to gaze at the stars, and fell asleep on the hard ground. He was awakened by a brilliant single star, so bright that the land for miles around was bathed in warmth and light. He rushed home to tell his family. As usual, they chided him for making up yet another story - but Ephraim knew differently. He knew he had witnessed a miracle.
